NCS Alumni Association Celebrates 50 Years of Reflections

The NCS Alumni Association (NCSAA), Inc. is pleased to announce the 50th anniversary of Normandie Christian School in Los Angeles. To commemorate this milestone, the NCSAA will host a weekend celebration from August 23 to 25, 2024.

Founded in 1973, Normandie Christian School (NCS) has provided quality Christian education to generations of students. Over the past 50 years, NCS has positively impacted thousands of lives through spiritual, moral and intellectual development. The NCSAA represents over 500 alumni worldwide who continue to embody the school’s values of faith, excellence, leadership and service.

The 50th anniversary festivities will kick off on Friday, August 23 at NCS, located at 6306 S. Normandie Ave., Los Angeles. A game night mixer for all NCS alumni, teachers and friends will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. This casual event will provide an opportunity for past and present members of the NCS community to reconnect while enjoying light food and refreshments.

On Saturday, August 24, alumni are invited to attend an evening banquet at the Carson Community Center to honor NCS’s history and accomplishments. The banquet will feature a special program highlighting stories from the school’s past 50 years.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday, August 25 with an alumni cookout at Del Aire Park, a nearby park in the city of Hawthorne. All events are open to NCS alumni, former and current teachers, students and their guests.

“We have planned an exciting lineup of events to celebrate this monumental anniversary,” said [Darin E. Hudson '83], NCSAA president. “The 50th reunion is a chance for our alumni community to come together, remember our shared history and strengthen the bonds of friendship that have endured over three decades.”

A Time for Reconnecting and Giving Back

The NCS Alumni Association hopes this weekend of events will provide an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with old friends and teachers, as well as support the next generation of students at NCS. Funds raised during the weekend will help provide scholarships, upgrade school facilities, and fund enrichment programs for current Normandie students. The spirit of giving back and supporting future students is at the heart of the NCS mission. Alumni are encouraged to participate generously and spread the word to fellow alumni who may not have heard about the celebration weekend.
